EDINHO SANTA CRUZ (EDDY BENEDICT)
Musician, singer and songwriter, EDINHO SANTA CRUZ (EDDY BENEDICT) is the author and interpreter of many songs that were featured in Rede Globo's soap opera soundtracks. He was the finalist of the "Festival dos Festivais" (The Festival of Festivals), along with composers Roberto Mendes and Jorge Portugal, with the song "Caribe, Calibre, Amor. During 4 years, the band was part of the weekly sunday TV show "Domingão do Faustão", on Globo Network and Edinho kept his position as musical director of the band until January 2005. In 2006, Edinho released the album "Edinho Santa Cruz na Estrada do Rock", with his own interpretation of classic rock songs. A year later, in 2007, he released the album "TRIBUTO AOS BEE GEES", a tribute to Bee Gees. The song "Acredite Em Mim" (Believe in Me), a version of How Deep is Your Love, was featured on the soundtrack of the soap opera "Luz do Sol" (Sunlight), from Record Network. In this album, he introduces the song "Last Forever", composed as a tribute to Maurice Gibb, in partnership with Gisele Abramoff. Edinho created the project "ESC 44 Na Estrada do Rock" which resulted in a huge concert and the production of a Live DVD and album, featuring a Great Orchestra, on the 18th of october, 2007 at the Engenheiro Salvador Arena Theatre, Brazil. In June 2008, Edinho released the DVD and album "Edinho Santa Cruz e Banda - Na Estrada do Rock In Concert", an ESC Records production, released by Universal Music. In 2010, Edinho recorded the CD Por quê? Which includes the song “ The Now”. Song composed by Edinho at The Mountain Studios ( Montreaux /Swiss) where Freddie Mercury (Queen) recorded most of his songs.
